Dear Friends,

We’re overjoyed to share that we’ve been given the green light to purchase the property for our Casa Di Riposo in Sanluri, Sardinia—our beloved Villa Pintadera, a manifestation of God’s vision for this island. Reflecting on our journey, it’s remarkable how our initial plan to establish a resting place for pastors and ministry staff has evolved into a home for 25 residents in need of nursing care. And for those inquiring about the pastor’s retreat, rest assured, we’ll be able to accommodate that too. Isn’t God’s plan simply astonishing? Villa Pintadera in Sanluri is set on a picturesque 5-acre plot (refer to the aerial photo) where we envision creating a comprehensive garden tailored specifically for our residents. This garden will not only serve as a serene retreat but also supply fresh, farm-to-table ingredients for their everyday meals. Villa Pintadera is designed to operate as a self-sustaining facility, featuring solar panels, gardens with a variety of fruits and vegetables, a chicken coop, and a well that provides drinkable water.

Many of you have asked, “Why Sardinia?” Well, it all began with a divine message urging me to reconnect with my roots—Sardinia, where my 81-year-old mother was born. Little did we realize, she’s been a vessel for God’s desires all along, reminding us not to overlook the elderly. Upon arriving here over three years ago, we encountered a stunning yet spiritually barren island. Despite common assumptions, Europe faces significant spiritual challenges. Institutions like schools and nursing homes have closed, leaving behind an overwhelming void. In these villages, the only “God” often perceived is the pension received monthly. Yet, amidst this emptiness, we find hearts receptive to discussions about God, yearning for spiritual connection as if reuniting with an old friend.

This is our calling—to bring revival, not just to nursing homes, but to the hearts of the lonely and forgotten. And the need is urgent. Last week, we witnessed how quickly a room in the nursing home was filled again after a resident passed away. But it’s not just about numbers; it’s about dignity and the desire to continue living with purpose. The need for nursing home beds in our area is substantial(1800)—we’re starting with just 25, but we believe that change begins with small steps.

That’s why we invite you to join us in this endeavor. Together, we can transform this island, then Italy, and perhaps even Europe, one nursing home at a time. When God revealed His dream for Sardinia, we couldn’t believe it. But He assured us, “Be bold and ask for help; helpers will come from every corner of the world.” So, we’re here, being bold and asking for your support—your prayers, advocacy, donations, and visits to serve.

We’re not alone; we count on you.

God bless you,
Greg and Romina Cherven
